Specification  All data below taken from fact sheet produced December 1968.

Hull, Cabin Top and Interior Furniture  moulded in GRP to Lloyds specification. Hull and cabin top joined with 1/4" (6mm) S/S bolts at 4" (100mm) centres with PVC fender all round. O/A height from ground 89" (2667). Height from ground to deck 68" (2032)

Keels Twin keels symmetrical hydrofoil section. Construction " (6.4) steel plate. Weight 560lbs (258) per keel. Ballast lead ton (508) per keel. Total weight of keels 1 tons (1524). Total fuel capacity 60 gallons (270). Keel fastening " (12.7) diameter stainless steel bolts through steel plates moulded into the hull. 30 bolts per keel. Rudder blade glass fibre. Rudder shaft 1 " (32) diameter solid stainless steel.

Deck Fittings Bronze, bolted through cabin top. Stem fitting, fore bollard and two fairleads forward, two mooring cleats on stern.

Running Rigging and Fittings  Halliards 1" (25) diameter pre-stretched terylene. Sheets 1 " (32) diameter Ulstron. , jib downhaul, main tack downhaul, kicking strap. Lewmar genoa slider and blocks, main sheet jamb blocks, lever winches and cleats. 

Spars  Anodised mast and boom by Sparlight. Roller reefing by Lewmar.. Spinnaker eye and track.

Mast Support Steel beams moulded into the hull and cabin top connected by tubular steel pillars.

Mast Height from step 336" (10210). Length of boom 139" (4190). Width of sidedeck 13" (381).

Standing Rigging  Norseman shroud plates 1 inch x 3/16 inch (32 x 4.8) stainless steel. Fastenings 4 3/8 inch (9.5) diameter stainless steel bolts. Standing rigging inch (6.4) diameter. 19 x 1 stainless steel. Talurit swaged ends. Lewmar Superston rigging screws and toggles.

Sails  Main  and working jib in Vectis cloth by Ratsey and Lapthorn.

Sail areas  Main 200sq-ft (18.58). Jib 120sq-ft (11.15). Storm Jib 60sq ft (5.57). Genoa 250sq ft (23.2). 

Main Cabin  Lined throughout. Headroom 6'3" (1905). Berths 6'4" (1930) with stowage under. Large galley area 7sq-ft (.65) and sink size 14" x 11" x 7" (355 x 280 x 173) with storage under. Chart table 32"x 29" (812 x 736) with drawer and stowage under. Oilskin hanging locker  volume 1212cu-ft (.34) with sealed drip tray. Teak faced lockers with sliding doors and wide shelf above. Alloy grab rails. Fresh water pump. Shelf Area 12sq-ft (1.12). Locker volume 35cu-ft (.99).

Separate Toilet and Hanging Locker Compartments  Moulded in hand basin in toilet compartment. Two bin shelves in the hanging locker. Teak sliding doors. Each compartment 27cu-ft (.76). Height 5ft (1524). Width 29" (838).

Fore Cabin  Headroom 4'10". Sitting headroom 3' (914). Berths 6'4" with stowage under. Sail locker. Locker Volume 29cu-ft (.57). Shelf Area 9sq-ft (.84) round cabin sides.

Aft Cabin  Sitting headroom 3 (914). Berths 6'4"  with stowage under. Locker volume 17cu-ft (.48). Shelf Area 20sq-ft (18.6) and side lockers.

Windows  Windows 3/16" Perspex recessed into moulding. Window frames light alloy. through bolted.

Ventilators  Two in fore cabin, two in main cabin, one in each hanging locker and toilet compartment. Vented drop hatch in after cabin and main cabin.

Cockpit  Self-draining with 1 1/4" drains. Glove lockers in cockpit sides. Large moulded winch pads. Length 5 (1524). Width 5 (1524). Depth 26" (762). Headroom under boom 6 (1828).

Anchor Locker  Self contained on fore deck. Ample stowage for anchors, chain,  etc., self-draining.

Steering  S/S tiller with tufnol grip. Bronze knuckle joint, S/S rudder shaft and glass fibre rudder.

Fuel and Water Storage  Fuel carried inside the keels 30 gallons to each keel. 2 filler caps amidships. 20 gallon (90) galvanized water tank under cockpit, with pipe and galley pump. 40 gallon (180) tank available (extra).

Standard Colours  Hull white, interior furniture white and grey, deck and cabin top light grey.

standard inventory Fitted mattresses. Salt water pump and pipe to sink. Toilet hand basin pump. Flush toilet fitted. Drop leaf table in saloon. 28lb Thames anchor 5 fathoms 5/16" chain, 25 fathoms 1 1/4" nylon. 10 interior lights and fused switch panel. Port and starboard navigation lights, stern light, mast light. 51 amp. hour battery fitted. Gimbaled cooker with fiddles and regulator, two 4lbs gas bottles. Stainless steel pulpit and stern rail, S/S stanchions and vinyl covered life lines by Lewmar.

*Note the keel configuration - the additional plates at the aft end of the keel are missing in the drawing yet this is the skegged version. Are there any K30 owners that have the skeg without the extra plates? Please let me know!
